Witches, Monsters, and Dragons

We recently bought the new dvd of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which my kids love and have watched it repeatedly. But the last two weeks my son who is 3 has been having bad dreams about a witch in his closet, and now there is a monster in his closet and dragons and who knows what else is in there. So the other day at Walmart I saw a foam sword for 2$. I bought it so my son would have something to protect himself from all the scary things in his closet. He loves it and now he and his daddy get to go around the house "killing" all the scary stuff in his closet. His daddy also showed him how to "wear" the sword behind his back~

Little Boys

Aren't little boys wonderful? I say this tongue in cheek~ they certainly are different from little girls. On Saturday we had to leave the house for awhile while we had a showing on the house. We decided to go to the park, it was a nice cool day and the kids love the park. We went to a park that was empty (good thing). Five minutes after arriving at the park, my son starts the potty dance, now we have been potty training for an eternity, and are final in underwear only. Problem one the park had no bathroom, problem two we couldn't go home yet. So my hubby decides to let him go behind the tree. Well, apparently my son loves that idea. A few hours later we are home and the kids are outside when once again my son has to go. He starts yelling "I wanna pee in the grass" for all the neighbors to hear. He totally would not come in the house, but instead wants to "go" in the grass! Don't ya just love little boys!

Favorite Blogs

Each Friday I am going to post a little bit about one of my favorite blogs. The very first blog I came across when I got started blogging was Freebies 4 Mom. This is a great website that offers coupons, giveaways, and much more. I encourage you if you haven't ever stopped by the website to go check it out.

What makes you happy?

I put on some music the other day at breakfast, to drowned out the noise of the kids (wink, wink). As the kids finished breakfast my oldest daughter was singing along to a song, and she said, "Mom, music makes me so happy!" I started to laugh, but then got to thinking about it. Music really can make you happy~ songs have a way of lifting you up when you are down. On the way to park today the kids were listing to Patch the Pirate and my favorite song came on - Lord I Need You. I love that song~ so today I encourage you to put on some music, really listen to the words and hopefully some song will brighten your day!

The List~

Today my older girls gave me their LIST. The dreaded Christmas list. My oldest said, "don't worry mom it's only ten things each, we didn't want to be greedy!" How thoughtful of you dear daughter :) Not exactly if you count the other two siblings~ that would be 40 things! Oh, well I read through the "list" and had to smile, they put little things like coloring books, and bracelets, pajamas, etc. Their was a few things that I will definitely have to check into getting, but the rest.....not this year children!

Book Review- A Man of His Word

I have recently signed up with Thomas Nelson publishers to do book reviews. They will send you a book of your choice for free and all you have to do is post a review about it. The following is for the book A Man of His Word by Kathleen Fuller.
A Man of His Word, written by Kathleen Fuller. This is the love story of Moriah Byler and Levi Miller. The book begins with Moriah preparing for the best day of her life, her wedding. She is in love with her childhood friend, Levi, while Levi’s twin brother Gabriel is in love with Moriah. The story quickly unfolds with a tale of lies and deception by Levi. Throughout the book there is yet a second story going on. The love story of another Amish couple, Tobias and Rachel. The book has it’s strong points, and it’s weak points. I liked how the author told about the community and made you really feel like you were in Middlefield, Ohio. The author used a lot of Amish words throughout the book, which I didn’t really care for, it broke the flow of reading as I had to look back and see what the words meant. The story itself was pretty predictable. Woman loves man, another man loves her, and there was lots of drama, with death and a birth. I would have liked there to be a book about Tobias and Rachel on their own, as there story line was pretty good. Overall I would recommend the book, and can’t wait to read another book by Kathleen Fuller.

Book Review- Seaside Letters

Seaside Letters A Nantucket Love Story by Denise Hunter. This is the story of Sabrina Kincaid and Tucker McCabe. Sabrina is a waitress who has fallen in love with someone she writes to online, that person comes to the diner everyday for coffee, and doesn’t know that the one he talks to online is Sabrina, or does he? Tucker has fallen is love with the woman he knows as Sweet pea online, he wants to date her in person, but she won’t agree to meet him. The story is a twist of online dating and the fact that Sabrina doesn’t want Tucker to meet her in person, because of something she has done in her past, so she goes about a cat and mouse game trying to avoid him finding out that she is the person he talks to online. Except he already know who she is and instead of just asking her out, hires her, Sabrina to find the mysterious online sweet pea. Honestly the whole story line was pretty immature, the online dating, the not wanting him to know who you are, even though he already knows. I would not have thought this was really a Christian book as there is not a lot of Christ like things in the book, actually the opposite, from drinking to an affair with a married man. I didn’t really get a good physical description of the characters, couldn’t really picture them in my mind. In the back of the book was an excerpt from Sweetwater Gap, another of Denise Hunters books that sounded good and I would like to read it and see if it was better than Seaside Letters.

Book Review- LoneStar Secrets

Lonestar Secrets written by Colleen Coble. Five years after Shannon Astor left her home town she finds herself back in town this time as a single mother and full of distrust for the people she grew up with. Shannon has put herself through school all while raising her little girl, Kylie. Shannon’s life is filled with many secrets, can Jack MacGowan the man who is raising his own little girl, Faith break through Shannon’s heart and find love? This story has many twists and turns, from lies and deception, to truth and love. It all goes to show you the truth is better told upfront, and it never pays to lie, no matter how much you think you are helping someone. The story takes place in West Texas and has many different characters. There is Mary Jane- the roommate of Shannon who is in big trouble. The mystery man who is after Shannon and has Mary Jane captive. Jack MacGowan, the man who once humiliated Shannon and now has a daughter who is identical to Shannon own little girl. And then there is Shannon, a woman of distrust who has made it through life on her own, can she put the past behind her and let Jack into her heart? The book has many twists and turns has a great story, and has a surprise ending. I would love to have read her first book, and can’t wait to read more of her books.
Welcome to 1 Prince and 3 Princesses. My goal is to blog about my kids, and to review products for companies. Thanks for stopping by and checking us out.
