What does the baby look like now? That is a question that my kids (and I) have often wondered.
If you are anything like I was when I was pregnant with my first child, all I wanted was to get past week 13. I had read that most miscarrages happen by week twelve and so my goal was always get to week 13. With our first child, I was at week 13 when I miscarried. It was the hardest thing I have ever gone through and the only time I have ever seen my husband cry. It was too early to tell whether the baby was a boy or girl and we have always wondered. My girls that are 7 and 9 know that we had a baby that died and they have asked this question- What will he or she look like when we get to Heaven? I am stuck on this and always answer that I don't know.
I do believe that all babies, whether by miscarriage or abortion, go to Heaven. What I can't seem to explain to my children is What do they look like? Will they still be babies or is eveyone the same age? So I am turning to you, my readers~ any thoughts on this?

Brodie, Ialso went through a misscarriage, and it was heartbreaking! But what helped me through it and even now is my firm belief that God will let me raise that baby someday. I believe we can live again with out families in Heaven, and that God, who is good and perfect and merciful, will allow parents to raise their children who died. I look forward to the day when I can greet that little one again! (And find out if it's a little boy or girl!)
I am almost embarrassed to admit that I just loved the movie "What Dreams May Come" with Robin Williams & Cuba Gooding Jr. I know, it was a huge flop and I don't agree with the whole movie... but I loved the part where the Dad, Robin Williams, goes through his journey with his children. Only he doesn't realize it at first because they chose who they wanted to look like. His daughter chose a flight attendant because she thought her Dad had great respect for them. :) His son appeared as an old friend in order to guide his Dad. Despite not knowing exactly who they were, he felt drawn to them and learned from them. I thought it was a beautiful concept.
I believe we will all recognize each other in heaven because love will draw us together. I would ask my children what they thought the child would look like in Heaven. Children's insight is amazing.
