Melvin the Magnificent Molar- book review

Meet Melvin, the lovable tooth. Through Melvin’s view of the world, this book encourages children in a fun-loving, unique way to actually want to brush their teeth. By promoting brushing, flossing, and regular visits to the dentist, Melvin shows readers young and old how to make sure they will have happy teeth and healthy smiles that will last them a lifetime!

Melvin the Magnificent Molar was written by Julia Cook & Laura Jana, M.D.
The book was illustrated by Allison Valentine, and is for children of all ages.
It can be purchased here for $9.95.

About the Authors

Julia Cook was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. While living in Utah, she began teaching children how to ski. That experience led to a love of teaching in general.

Julia now lives with her husband and three children in Fremont, Nebraska. She has a Master’s degree in Elementary School Counseling. While serving as a guidance counselor, Julia often used children’s books to enhance her classroom lessons.
The goal behind Julia’s books is to actively involve young people into her fun and creative stories and teach them to become “better.”

Dr. Laura Jana

She has become widely recognized as a national parenting expert on television, radio, and in national print outlets. She currently serves as a consultant for both academic institutions and major corporations alike.

Our Review
We were sent a copy of Melvin the Magnificent Molar for review.  My kids greatly needed this as brushing their teeth has become a battle.  My older girls brush, just not like they should.  My three year old son hates to brush his teeth, seriously it has become a nightly fight with him.  The youngest loves to brush and would brush all day long if I let her.

This book was fun and informative, with great pictures.  I really liked how they showed that going to the dentist wasn't scary.

This is an excellent book for kids of all ages, and a great tool for parents in teaching their kids the importance of taking care of their teeth.
