What's for dinner?

This is a very easy dish, that is quick to prepare~ We had this at some friends house awhile ago and we liked it so much we eat it once a week.
Chicken in Crescent Rolls
  • Shredded Chicken
  • Crescent Rolls
  • 1 can of Cream of Mushroom
  • 1 can of milk
Follow the dirctions on the package ~ open the crescent roll and stuff it with the shredded chicken roll it up and bake according to the directions.  We serve it with a cream of mushroom sauce.  I mix the cream of mushroom with milk and heat it up.  We also eat this dish with either rice or mashed potatoes and a vegetable.
I like to buy my chicken in bulk and then cook it in the crockpot for 6 hours and then you have lots of already cooked shredded chicken on hand for any dish you may need to cook in a hurry.
So that's it less than 5 ingredients and you have a whole meal!

What's for dinner? Homemade Mac and Cheese

Here's a really easy recipe for Homemade Macaroni and Cheese.
  • 1 1/2 c. of uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp.pepper
  • 1/4 c. onion (optional)
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 3/4 c. milk
  • 8 slices of American cheese (4 white and 4 orange)
Cook your macaroni according to box directions.Drain and rinse macaroni and set aside.
Cook and stir butter onion, salt, pepper over medium heat till onion is tender.  Add in flour and cook over low heat. stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth.  Remove from heat, stir in milk and heat till boiling, stir constantly, once it reaches boiling stage add in your cheese slices one at a time stirring until cheese is melted. add macaroni and blend together.  Put in a cassarole dish and bake uncovered at 375* for 30 minutes.  We serve this with cinnamon rolls and applesauce.

My mom used to make this all the time when I was a kid, and I hated it, now that I am grown up :) I love it!

What's for dinner?

Here is a really good soup recipe. After my third child (the prince) was born a friend brought this over, and I love it.
Chicken Tortilla Soup
2 cans of chicken broth
1 can Rotel
1 can corn
1 package ranch seasoning
1 package taco seasoning
Cooked shredded chicken
You can make this in the crockpot or stove top.  I usually cook up some chicken breasts in the crockpot and shred the meat and freeze it so I always have shredded chicken on hand.   You can substitute 1 can of the chicken broth with water, but I like using the chicken broth, it adds flavor.
Throw all ingedients in a pan and  heat it up, I usually use the crock pot so I can forget about it and go.
To serve add some shredded cheese and eat it with some tortilla chips.
If you have a favorite recipe you would like to share just email me and I will add it to my list of recipes to share.
