Differences between the first child and the last child.

With four children in the house things are a bit hectic crazy.  Last weekend we were driving and the youngest, who is almost two was screaming bloody murder, which she seems to do quite frequently now a days.  My husband said in between screams, " I don't remember the other kids acting like her!"
I started thinking about how different it is now with four kids, instead of when it was just one child.

Remember when you had your first child and went to church for the first time or just out in public?
I kept her in her car seat when ever we went to Church so no one could touch her!  I also didn't put her in nursery until she was 5 months old!  Then came the second baby, I still kept her in her car seat, because of germs, but the nursery was a welcome relief at three months!  Third baby- I would use the car seat, until I put him in the nursery at 2 months.  Fourth child- would somebody please take this child and take her right to
the nursery- pretty much as soon as they would take her she went straight to nursery!

Remember when your first child started  to want sweets?
My first child I wouldn't let have sweets, and when my sister snuck her ice cream at 1 year old I was mad!  The first kid is not aloud to have gum, lollipops, candy, etc....but by the time the last kid comes around, you are screaming somebody get the kids some M&M's!!!

With the first child nap time is a sacred ritual done at exactly the same time of day every day without fail.
Last child, is lucky to get a nap where ever they can drop.

First child and germs~ everything was washed and sanitized, labeled with all pertinent information.
Last child- 5 second rule, just blow on it and eat it.  And as for being labeled?  If you can find your name under all the other names then it must be yours!

If you only have one child you may not know what I am talking about, and you will say that won't happen to me!  Trust me, by the time the last kid is born you are so exhausted you just go with the flow!

Wow, that is SO true! I have 3 girls. With my first, I watched her like a hawk and hovered at all times to protect her. Now I just take them out and hope for the best, praying other people are keeping an eye on them too. It's just too hard to mother the way I used to!

I'm stopping by from SITs!

I love your blog title! I could use a similar one but it would be 3 Princes and 1 Princess!

I love this post, too. My mom said something to me the other day that really made me realize how different I have 4 children instead of 1. She was going to put my baby on the floor and asked if I wanted her to put a blanket down (now this is the carpet at my house and he is already crawling - blanket = pointless) I responded with, "This is my 4th child - not my 1st mom."

Hope you have a great Mother's Day!

I've got twins, so I don't know exactly what it would be like to have several in a row, but my mentality on things was definitely different than my friends who only had one baby. You're right, you're just so exhausted you go with what works, even if it would make the so called "experts" cringe.

Happy SITS day!
